Me+You Productions is an award-winning UK based independent film and television production company founded by BAFTA and EMMY-winning filmmakers Richard Yee and Krishnendu Majumdar. They develop and produce high end cinematic, authored drama and comedy with the very best writing, acting and directing talent, focussing on distinctive and bold stories for UK and international audiences.

Their most recent work, I AM RUTH, stars Kate Winslet in a feature-length episode of series 3 of the critically acclaimed drama I AM for Channel 4 / HBO. The film won two BAFTA awards for Best Single Drama and Kate Winslet for Lead Actress as well as winning the RTS award for Lead Actress. They are in post-production on a Dominic Savage independent feature film CLOSE TO YOU starring Academy Award Nominee Elliot Page.

Me+You’s award-winning drama series I AM… for Channel 4 written and directed by Dominic Savage, starring Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan and Vicky McClure, was nominated for a BAFTA (Lead Actress – Samantha Morton), two Broadcast Awards, a Royal Television Society Award and won a WFTV award. The second series, starring Suranne Jones, Letitia Wright and Lesley Manville was broadcast on Channel 4 in August 2021 and received a BAFTA nomination and won the C21 Drama award. The franchise has been bought by HBO in the US.

They produced a feature documentary END TO END starring George Ezra and two series of the critically acclaimed 6-part scripted comedy drama series SICK OF IT, written by Karl Pilkington and Richard Yee for Sky One and RTS winning THE DALI AND THE COOPER, a single film for Sky Arts / Showtime, directed by Iain Forsyth + Jane Pollard, and starring David Suchet + Noel Fielding with music by Jarvis Cocker + Richard Hawley.

Me+You’s other output includes two series of International Emmy-winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD (starring David Hasselhoff + Asim Chaudhry) for UKTV / Netflix, (sold to 199 territories) and two series of THE MOANING OF LIFE (Grierson shortlisted and Broadcast Award-nominated, sold to 189 territories) and they also co-created the BAFTA nominated genre defining global smash hit AN IDIOT ABROAD starring Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (which sold to 210 territories).

Their work has won two BAFTA awards, two Royal Television Society awards, an International EMMY award, a C21 International drama award, a MIND Media award and a WFTV award in addition to being nominated for seven BAFTAs, a National Television Award, three RTS awards and multiple Broadcast Awards.

 

DIVERSITY
Diversity is in the DNA of Me+You: the company is owned and creatively led by two people of colour. Krish has an Indian (Bengali) heritage and was born in Wales. Richard has Chinese heritage and was born in Scotland. Until recently, Krish was the Chairman of BAFTA and the first person of colour to hold the position in its 75 year history. Krish has wide experience in leading diversity issues across the Industry for BAFTA, PACT and Directors UK. Me+You is committed to reflecting and representing the diversity of the UK and beyond. Krishnendu Majumdar
Krish is a BAFTA and EMMY winning Producer and Director who has worked in the industry for 20 years. He started in television working for ITN as a journalist before making hard hitting documentaries and current affairs shows including the BAFTA nominated WHO YOU CALLIN’ A NIGGER? Krish co-created the BAFTA nominated AN IDIOT ABROAD, the International EMMY winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD and produced the BAFTA winning drama series I AM. Krish is the former Chairman of BAFTA making him the youngest in 35 years and first person of colour to hold the position in it’s 73-year history and has a long history of leading on diversity issues across the Industry for BAFTA, PACT and Directors UK.

RICHARD YEE
Richard is an award winning Writer, Director and Producer. He Co-created and wrote 2 series of the comedy drama SICK OF IT (Sky One) with Karl Pilkington, was co-creator and lead writer on the Emmy winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD, and was Co-Creator of THE MOANING OF LIFE. Before co-founding Me + You, he set up RiSK Productions with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, and directed and produced the hit series AN IDIOT ABROAD.

FELIX MALCOLM-STILL
Felix has been at Me + You for five years, working across productions including THE MOANING OF LIFE, HOFF THE RECORD, THE DALI AND THE COOPER, SICK OF IT and Series 1 & 2 of I AM. As the company's Development Editor, he works alongside a raft of talent from established award-winning screenwriters to new up-and-coming writers and playwrights.
